Staff acted on behalf of the Commission to note the substantive change site visit occurred on March 30-31, 2026, at the relocated main campus at 463 East 149th Street, Bronx, NY 10455 and the information provided in the substantive change request was verified during the on-site follow-up team visit. To note written evidence of approval from New York State Department of Education (NYSED) was received. To require written evidence of approvals from all necessary licensing, regulatory, or other legal entities as necessary, including United States Department of Education (USDE). To require the submission of the updated Eligibility and Certification Approval Report (ECAR) reflecting the substantive change as soon as it is available by email to [email protected]. The date of the next evaluation will be determined upon reaffirmation of accreditation. - June 25, 2026
To acknowledge receipt of the show cause report. To note the follow-up team visit by Commission representatives to the main campus at 463 East 149th Street, Bronx, NY 10455 on March 30-31, 2026. To acknowledge receipt of the intent to appear before the Commission to present its reasons why its accreditation should not be withdrawn. To note the presentation by institutional representatives on June 24, 2026. To acknowledge receipt of the request to present new information as approved by the Chair of the Commission: (1) June 16, 2026, email submission of new information; (2) June 16, 2026, cover letter with substantive attachments; and (3) presentation slides for show cause appearance. To warn the institution that its accreditation may be in jeopardy because of insufficient evidence that the institution is currently in compliance with Standard VI (Resources, Planning, and Institutional Improvement). To note that the institution remains accredited while on warning. To further note that federal regulations limit the period during which an institution may be in non-compliance, which started on June 26, 2025. To request a monitoring report, due December 2, 2026, demonstrating evidence that the institution has achieved and can sustain ongoing compliance with Standard VI (Planning, Resources, and Institutional Improvement), including but not limited to (1) documented financial resources, funding base, and plans for financial development adequate to support its educational purposes and programs and to ensure financial stability (Standard VI); (2) a documented enrollment management planning process that aligns with the institution's strategic or institutional effectiveness plan and evidence of its implementation (Standard VI); and (3) enrollment projections including clear parameters and assumptions on which they are based (Standard VI) (Fourteenth Edition and Evidence Expectations by Standard Guidelines). To direct a follow-up team visit following submission of the monitoring report. To direct a prompt Commission liaison guidance visit to discuss Commission expectations. To acknowledge receipt of the intent to appear before the Commission to present its reasons why its accreditation should not be withdrawn. To note the presentation by institutional representatives on November 19, 2025. To acknowledge receipt of the request to present new information as approved by the Chair of the Commission: (1) November 12, 2025, email submission of new information; (2) New materials approving sale of real property and an enhanced enrollment plan; (3) PowerPoint Presentation; (4) November 13, 2025, email submission of supplemental new information regarding the status of the New York Attorney General's Office review and New York State Education Department approval of the sale of real property; (5) November 13, 2025, Letter from New York State Education Department; (6) November 16, 2025, email submission of new information; and (7) updated teach-out plan with agreements dated November 16, 2025. To require the institution to continue to show cause by February 27, 2026, to demonstrate why its accreditation should not be withdrawn because of insufficient evidence that the institution is in compliance with Standard VI (Planning, Resources, and Institutional Improvement). The show cause report must include evidence that the institution has (1) documented financial resources, funding base, and plans for financial development adequate to support its educational purposes and programs and to ensure financial stability (Standard VI); (2) a documented enrollment management planning process that aligns with the institution's strategic or institutional effectiveness plan and evidence of its implementation (Standard VI); and (3) enrollment projections including clear parameters and assumptions on which they are based (Standard VI) (Fourteenth Edition and Evidence Expectations by Standard Guidelines). The show cause report must also include an update on (1) the status of the sale of 60 West Street, New York, NY 10006; (2) compliance with the institution's program responsibilities under existing federal Title IV student financial aid programs, including updated financial information relating to the institution's Heightened Cash Monitoring status (Standard VI); and (3) evidence of the status of the institution's membership in the National Council for State Authorization (NC-SARA) Reciprocity Agreements and compliance with all membership requirements (Standard VI). To direct the institution to immediately notify the Metropolitan College of New York community of the status of the institution, including all governing board members, students, faculty, staff and others with significant roles (Standard II and Public Disclosures Policy and Procedures). To direct an on-site show cause visit following submission of the report. To direct a prompt Commission liaison guidance visit to discuss Commission expectations. To remind the institution of its obligation to make freely available to the Commission accurate, fair, and complete information on all aspects of the institution and its operations (Standard VII).
