  • October 29, 2020
    To delay the On-Site Evaluation visit scheduled for Spring 2021 due to extraordinary circumstances related to coronavirus (COVID-19) interruptions and to continue accreditation. To note the institution remains accredited during a delay granted by the Commission. The Evaluation visit will be scheduled in accordance with Commission policy and procedures.
  • August 27, 2020
    To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include the additional location at 312 Marshall Avenue, Suite 205, Laurel, MD 20707 within the institution’s scope of accreditation. To note that written evidence of necessary approvals has been provided. To require immediate notification when instruction commences at the location. To note that the Commission may rescind this action if instruction does not commence within one calendar year from the date of this action. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2020-2021.
  • April 16, 2020
    To acknowledge receipt of formal written notice from the institution in response to the Commission’s request of March 9, 2020. To temporarily waive Substantive Change Policy and Procedures and allow the use of distance education to accommodate students impacted by coronavirus (COVID-19) interruptions, in accordance with United States Department of Education (USDE) guidelines published March 5, 2020. Continued use of distance education beyond the limitations of USDE guidelines will require substantive change approval in accordance with Substantive Change Policy and Procedures. This flexibility is not available for clock-hour courses that lead to licensure if the licensing body will not accept distance learning courses or hours or give credit for them toward the number of hours a student must complete. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2020-2021.

  • November 12, 2018
    Staff acted on behalf of the Commission to request a supplemental information report, due December 14, 2018, addressing recent developments at the institution which may have implications for current and future compliance with Standard IV: Support of the Student Experience.

    To accept the progress report. To acknowledge receipt of the ACEN report requested by the Commission on November 17, 2016. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2020-2021.

    To accept the Periodic Review Report and to reaffirm accreditation. To request a progress report due October 1, 2017, documenting further steps taken to reduce the student loan default rate (Standard 8). To remind the institution of its obligation to inform the Commission about any and all significant developments related to its ACEN accreditation status; a copy of the ACEN report must be submitted to the Commission within 10 business days of its completion. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2020-2021.

The Periodic Review Report is due June 1, 2016.

To include the additional location at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center, 44219 Airport Road, California, MD 20619-2010 within the scope of the institution's accreditation. The Commission requires written notification within thirty days of the commencement of operations at the additional location. In the event that operations at this site do not commence within one calendar year from the approval of this action, approval will lapse. To remind the institution of the monitoring report, due October 1, 2012, providing evidence of the implementation of (1) an organized and sustainable assessment process, including direct measures, to improve institutional effectiveness, with evidence that assessment information is used in budgeting, planning, and the allocation of resources (Standard 7); (2) appropriate procedures and policies for the initiation, quality, and assessment of distance education offerings (Standard 13); and (3) an organized and sustainable process with adequate administrative support and faculty resources, to assess the achievement of expected student learning outcomes in all programs, including general education, with evidence that assessment information is used to improve teaching and learning (Standards 12 and 14).
