  • The following represents the MSCHE accreditation actions taken in the last ten (10) years.
  • April 16, 2020
    To acknowledge receipt of formal written notice from the institution in response to the Commission’s request of March 9, 2020. To temporarily waive Substantive Change Policy and Procedures and allow the use of distance education to accommodate students impacted by coronavirus (COVID-19) interruptions, in accordance with United States Department of Education (USDE) guidelines published March 5, 2020. Continued use of distance education beyond the limitations of USDE guidelines will require substantive change approval in accordance with Substantive Change Policy and Procedures. This flexibility is not available for clock-hour courses that lead to licensure if the licensing body will not accept distance learning courses or hours or give credit for them toward the number of hours a student must complete. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2026-2027.

    To acknowledge receipt of the self-study report. To note the visit by the Commission's representatives. To reaffirm accreditation. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2026-2027.
  • April 30, 2019
    To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include the first alternative delivery method-distance education program (Master of Biomedical Science program) within the scope of accreditation. To note that the Commission may rescind this action if the requested substantive change is not implemented within one calendar year from the date of this action. To note that the evaluation visit has occurred and will be acted upon by the Commission in the June meeting.

    To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include the second Master’s degree level program (Master of Professional Science) within the scope of the institution's accreditation. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2018-2019.

    To note the visit by the Commission’s representative and to affirm inclusion of the additional location at the Baruch S. Blumberg Institute, 3805 Old Easton Road, Doylestown, PA 18902 within the scope of the institution’s accreditation.

    To acknowledge receipt of the complex substantive change request. To provisionally include the change of control resulting from the integration with Geisinger Health System Foundation within the scope of the institution's accreditation pending the following: (a) documentation of receipt of required federal and state approvals; and (b) a site visit to occur within six months of the effective date of the completed change of control. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2018-2019.

    To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include provisionally the additional location at Baruch S. Blumberg Institute, 3805 Old Easton Road, Doylestown, PA 18902 within the scope of the institution's accreditation pending a site visit within six months of commencing operations. The Commission requires written notification within thirty days of the commencement of operations at this additional location. In the event that operations at the additional location do not commence within one calendar year from the approval of this action, approval will lapse. To remind the institution of the Commission's request of June 26, 2014 for a progress report due April 1, 2016. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2018-2019.

    To grant accreditation. To request a progress report, due April 1, 2016, documenting (1) continued implementation of strategies to measure and assess the level of, and efficient utilization of, institutional resources required to support the institution’s mission and goals (Standard 3); (2) implementation of the plan to expand board membership and increase its diversity (Standard 4); (3) implementation of an oversight structure for institutional assessment that is sufficiently simple, practical, detailed and owned by the institution to be sustainable (Standard 7); and (4) continued implementation of the faculty recruitment plan (Standard 10). The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2018-2019.

    To acknowledge receipt of the institution's request to postpone the evaluation visit and to grant the postponement. The evaluation is now scheduled for 2013-2014.
