  • December 2, 2021
    To acknowledge receipt of the supplemental information report. To rescind the complex substantive change action of November 15, 2018, for change of control and legal status at 600 Valley Road, P.O. Box 209, Summerdale, PA, 17093-0309 because (1) all necessary approvals were not received and (2) the close of transaction did not occur. The action to rescind a substantive change request is not an adverse action; therefore, it is not subject to appeal. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2021-2022.

    To acknowledge receipt of the supplemental information report. To request a supplemental information report due October 1, 2021, documenting (1) final and signed transactional documents related to the change in control and legal status (Requirement of Affiliation 14) and (2) any written evidence of approvals from all necessary licensing, regulatory, or other legal entities as necessary, including the United States Department of Education and the Pennsylvania Department of Education (Requirement of Affiliation 5). To require notification of the date of the closing of the transaction within five calendar days of the transaction. To remind the institution of its obligation to inform the Commission about any and all developments relevant to this action (Requirement of Affiliation 14). The Commission reserves the right to rescind approval of this complex substantive change if any developments reveal additional information that might have affected the Commission's decision. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2021-2022.

    To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include the second Postsecondary Certificate (< 1 year) program (Bookkeeping) within the scope of the institution's accreditation. To note the complex substantive change request includes a merger of the institution (a for-profit corporation, Central Penn, Inc.) with a newly formed corporation (a non-profit named Central Pennsylvania Educational Institution) and a name change of the surviving corporation to the name of the currently accredited institution, Central Penn College. To require a site visit within six months of April 1, 2019, the anticipated date of the transaction. To require notification of the date of the closing of the transaction. To require written evidence of approvals from all necessary licensing, regulatory, or other legal entities as necessary, including the United States Department of Education and the Pennsylvania Department of Education. To remind the institution of its obligation to inform the Commission about any and all developments relevant to this action. The Commission reserves the right to rescind approval of this substantive change if any developments reveal additional information that might have affected the Commission's decision. To request a supplemental information report due October 1, 2019, documenting further evidence, following the transaction, of: (1) a legally constituted governing body that has sufficient independence, expertise and structure and is responsible and accountable for the academic quality, planning and fiscal well-being of the institution including: (a) the names and brief biographies for each board member, and (b) a list of the Trustee committees that have been formed and are functioning ( Standard VII and Requirement of Affiliation 12 & 13 ), (2) enrollment management planning linked to budget development (Standard VI and Requirement of Affiliation 11); and (3) periodic assessment of the effectiveness of planning, resource allocation, institutional renewal, and the availability of resources (Standard VI and Requirement of Affiliation 10). To request a monitoring report, due October 1, 2014, documenting evidence of (1) the use of benchmarks and enhanced metrics to demonstrate the achievement of institutional mission and goals (Standard 1); (2) the timely implementation and review of evaluations of special projects and initiatives with recommendations for improvement and evidence of action based on recommendations (Standard 7); (3) the further articulation and assessment of student learning outcomes at the course, program and institutional levels with evidence of comparable quality of educational effectiveness regardless of location or mode of delivery (Standard 11); and (4) consistent with institutional mission, further development of the assessment of general education outcomes with evidence that, upon degree completion, students demonstrate core competencies required for career success (Standard 12). The Periodic Review Report is due June 1, 2018.
