  • June 24, 2021
    To acknowledge receipt of the supplemental information report. To request a supplemental information report, due September 1, 2021, providing further evidence of a governing body that provides oversight at the policy level and is informed in all its operations by principles of good practice in board governance (Standard VII). The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2026-2027.
  • November 19, 2020
    To acknowledge receipt of the supplemental information report. To request a supplemental information report, due March 1, 2021, providing further evidence of (1) compliance with all applicable federal, state and Commission policies and regulations (Standard II and Requirement of Affiliation 5); and (2) a governing body that provides oversight at the policy level and is informed in all its operations by principles of good practice in board governance (Standard VII). The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2026-2027.

    Staff acted on behalf of the Commission to request a supplemental information report, due August 28, 2020, addressing developments at the institution which may have implications for current and future compliance with Requirement of Affiliation 5, Standard II (Ethics and Integrity), and Standard VII (Governance, Leadership and Administration).

    To rescind the substantive change action of October 31, 2016. To note the institution's decision to not operate the site at 545 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, PA as an additional location.

    To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include provisionally within the scope of the institution's accreditation the relocation of the additional location from 351 Kersey Street, Coatesville, PA 19320 to 545 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, PA 19320 and pending a site visit within six months of commencing operations at the new location. The Commission requires written notification within thirty days of the commencement of operations at the new location and the closure of the old location. Operations at the additional location must commence within one calendar year from the date of this action. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2018-2019.

    Staff acted on behalf of the Commission to request a supplemental information report, due April 10, 2016, addressing the impact of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's budget impasse on the institution's compliance with the Requirements of Affiliation and accreditation standards, specifically Standard 3 (Institutional Resources).

    To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request and to include the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program within the scope of the institution's accreditation. To request a progress report, due December 1, 2014 documenting evidence of (1) the actual program budget for the first year of operation's providing sufficient resources for the program (Standard 3); (2) sufficient initial student enrollment to ensure viability of the program (Standard 8); (3) a sufficient number of appropriately qualified faculty and staff to deliver the program and fulfill other responsibilities (Standards 5 and 10); and (4) implementation of an organized and sustainable assessment process to evaluate and improve student learning (Standard 14). The Periodic Review Report is due June 1, 2014.

    To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request and to include the additional location at 301 Kersey Street, Coatesville, PA 19320 provisionally within the scope of the institution's accreditation, pending a site visit within six months of the commencement of operations at the site. The Commission requires written notification within thirty days of the commencement of operations at this additional location. In the event that operations at this additional location do not commence within one calendar year from the approval of this action, approval will lapse. The Periodic Review Report is due June 1, 2014.

    To note the visit by the Commission's representatives. To accept the monitoring report, to remove the warning because the institution is now in compliance with Standard 14, and to reaffirm accreditation. The Periodic Review Report is now due June 1, 2014.

Information about the Middle States Commission on Higher Education

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) is one of seven institutional accrediting organizations in the United States and is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). MSCHE accreditation applies to an institution as a whole rather than the specific programs within an institution. MSCHE does not approve or accredit individual programs. The MSCHE accreditation review cycle is continuous and accreditation does not expire. Each institution is reevaluated and monitored on a regular and consistent basis in accordance with the institution’s assigned accreditation review cycle and Commission policy and procedures. An institution maintains its accreditation unless it is voluntarily surrendered or withdrawn by the Commission for cause, after the institution has been afforded due process. The institution’s current accreditation phase and accreditation status are displayed on the institution’s listing in the Institution Directory and in the Statement of Accreditation Status (SAS).
