  • The following represents the MSCHE accreditation actions taken in the last ten (10) years.
  • March 10, 2022
    To acknowledge receipt of the self-study report. To note that the institution hosted a virtual site visit in lieu of an on-site visit in accordance with the United States Department of Education (USDE) guidelines published March 17, 2020. To warn the institution that its accreditation may be in jeopardy because of insufficient evidence that the institution is currently in compliance with Standard V (Educational Effectiveness Assessment). To note that the institution remains accredited while on warning. To note further that federal regulations limit the period during which an institution may be in non-compliance. To request a monitoring report due September 1, 2022, demonstrating evidence that the institution has achieved and can sustain ongoing compliance with Standard V, including but not limited to assessment of student learning and achievement to demonstrate that students have accomplished educational goals consistent with their programs of study (Standard V). To direct a follow-up team visit following submission of the monitoring report. To note the visit will also fulfill the verification requirements of the USDE guidelines. To direct a prompt Commission liaison guidance visit to discuss the Commission's expectations. Upon reaffirmation of accreditation, the next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2029-2030.

    To acknowledge receipt of the monitoring report. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2021-2022.
  • November 15, 2018
    To acknowledge receipt of the monitoring report. To note the visit by the Commission's representatives. To reaffirm accreditation because the institution is now in compliance with Standard V (Educational Effectiveness Assessment) and Standard VI (Planning, Resources, and Institutional Improvement). To request a monitoring report, due October 1, 2019, demonstrating sustainability of implemented corrective measures for (1) the development and implementation of organized and systematic assessments that evaluate the extent of student achievement in all programs (Standard V); and (2) clearly stated institutional and unit-level objectives that are linked to mission and reflect conclusions drawn from assessment results (Standard VI). In addition to request that the monitoring report also provide further evidence of a governing body that provides oversight at the policy level and is informed in all its operations by principles of good practice in board governance (Standard VII). The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2021-2022.
  • July 2, 2018
    To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include the additional location at The Northland Workforce Training Center, 685 Northland Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14221 within the scope of the institution's accreditation. The Commission requires written notification within thirty days of the commencement of operations at this additional location. Operations at the additional location must commence within one calendar year from the date of this action. To remind the institution of the Commission's action of November 16, 2017 to warn the institution that its accreditation may be in jeopardy because of insufficient evidence that it is currently in compliance with Standards Standard 3, 7 and 14 (Standards V and VI). To remind the institution of the monitoring report due September 1, 2018. To note that the institution remains accredited while on warning. Upon reaffirmation of accreditation, the next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2021-2022.

  • November 16, 2017
    To accept the Periodic Review Report. To warn the institution that its accreditation may be in jeopardy because of insufficient evidence that the institution is currently in compliance with Standard 3, 7 and 14 (Standards V and VI). To note that the institution remains accredited while on warning and to note further that federal regulations limit the period during which an institution may be in non-compliance to two years. To request a monitoring report due September 1, 2018, documenting (1) evidence of an organized, systematic and sustainable process for the assessment of learning in all programs, including general education (Standard V); (2) overall institutional effectiveness with evidence that assessment information is used to improve programs, services, and processes and is shared and discussed with appropriate constituents (Standard VI); and, (3) steps taken to improve the institution's finances (Standard VI). A small team visit will follow submission of the monitoring report. To direct a prompt Commission liaison guidance consultation to discuss Commission expectations. Upon reaffirmation of accreditation, the next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2021-2022.

    To accept the monitoring report and to note that a visit will not be conducted. The Periodic Review Report is due June 1, 2017.
  • November 15, 2012
    To accept the monitoring report and to note the visit by the Commission's representatives. To remove the warning because the institution is now in compliance with Standard 7 (Institutional Assessment) and Standard 14 (Student Learning Assessment) and to reaffirm accreditation. To request a monitoring report, due March 1, 2014, documenting (1) evidence of further development and implementation of an organized and sustained assessment process to evaluate institutional effectiveness (Standard 7); (2) further steps taken to strengthen institutional research capability to support institutional assessment activities and decision-making (Standard 7); and, (3) further development and implementation of the assessment of student learning outcomes including the use of assessment results to improve planning, budgeting, teaching and learning (Standard 14). A small team visit may follow submission of the report. The Periodic Review Report is now due June 1, 2017.

A small team visit will follow submission of the monitoring report. To direct a prompt Commission liaison guidance visit. The next evaluation visit date will be set when accreditation is reaffirmed.
