  • August 27, 2020
    To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include the alternative delivery method-distance education within the institution’s scope of accreditation. To require written evidence of approvals from all necessary licensing, regulatory, or other legal entities as necessary, including the New York State Education Department. To note that the Commission may rescind this action if the requested substantive change is not implemented within one calendar year from the date of this action. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2022-2023.
  • April 16, 2020
    To acknowledge receipt of formal written notice from the institution in response to the Commission’s request of March 9, 2020. To temporarily waive Substantive Change Policy and Procedures and allow the use of distance education to accommodate students impacted by coronavirus (COVID-19) interruptions, in accordance with United States Department of Education (USDE) guidelines published March 5, 2020. Continued use of distance education beyond the limitations of USDE guidelines will require substantive change approval in accordance with Substantive Change Policy and Procedures. This flexibility is not available for clock-hour courses that lead to licensure if the licensing body will not accept distance learning courses or hours or give credit for them toward the number of hours a student must complete. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2022-2023.

  • February 27, 2020
    To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include the relocation of the DCC South additional location at Hollowbrook Park 31 Marshall Road, Bldg. 4, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 to DCC Fishkill, 461 Route 9, Fishkill, NY 12524 within the institution’s scope of accreditation. To direct a substantive change site visit as soon as practicable but no later than six months after the commencement of instruction at the additional location. To require immediate notification when instruction commences at the new location and of the date that instruction ceases at the former location. To note the Commission may rescind this action if instruction at this location does not commence within one calendar year from the date of this action. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2022-2023.

    To accept the monitoring report and to note the visit by the Commission's representatives. To remove the warning because the institution is now in compliance with Standard 14 (Assessment of Student Learning) and to reaffirm accreditation.To request a monitoring report, due March 1, 2018, documenting further development and implementation of (1) goals and objectives or strategies, both institution-wide and for individual units, that are clearly stated, reflect conclusions drawn from assessment results, are linked to mission and goal achievement, and are used for planning and resource allocation at the institution and unit levels (Standard 2); (2) a documented, organized, and sustained assessment process for the assessment of institutional effectiveness with evidence that assessment information is used to improve programs, services, and processes and is shared and discussed with appropriate constituents (Standard 7); and (3) an organized, systematic and sustainable process to assess the achievement of student learning goals in all programs, including general education, that foster student learning and development and that use results to improve teaching and learning (Standards 12 and 14). A small team visit may follow submission of the monitoring report. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2022-2023.

    To accept the monitoring report and to note the visit by the Commission's representatives. To note that the institution is now in compliance with Standard 2 (Planning, Resource Allocation and Institutional Renewal), Standard 7 (Institutional Assessment), and Standard 12 (General Education). To continue to warn the institution that its accreditation may be in jeopardy because of insufficient evidence that it is in compliance with Standard 14 (Assessment of Student Learning). To note that the institution remains accredited while on warning. To request a monitoring report, due September 1, 2016, documenting evidence that the institution has achieved and can sustain compliance with Standards 14, including but not limited to evidence of the development and implementation of an organized, systematic and sustainable process to assess the achievement of student learning goals in all programs that foster student learning and development and that use results to improve teaching and learning (Standard 14). A small team visit will follow submission of the monitoring report. The date of the next accreditation review will be established when accreditation is reaffirmed.

    To warn the institution that its accreditation may be in jeopardy because of insufficient evidence that the institution is currently in compliance with Standard 2 (Planning, Resource Allocation and Institutional Renewal), Standard 7 (Institutional Assessment), Standard 12 (General Education), and Standard 14 (Assessment of Student Learning). To note that the institution remains accredited while on warning. To request a monitoring report, due March 1, 2016, documenting evidence that the institution has achieved and can sustain compliance with Standards 2, 7, 12, and 14, including but not limited to evidence of the development and implementation of (1) goals and objectives or strategies, both institution-wide and for individual units, that are clearly stated, reflect conclusions drawn from assessment results, are linked to mission and goal achievement, and are used for planning and resource allocation at the institution and unit levels (Standard 2); (2) a documented, organized, and sustained assessment process for the assessment of institutional effectiveness with evidence that assessment information is used to improve programs, services, and processes and is shared and discussed with appropriate constituents (Standard 7); and (3) an organized, systematic and sustainable process to assess the achievement of student learning goals in all programs, including general education, that foster student learning and development and that use results to improve teaching and learning (Standards 12 and 14). In addition, to request that the monitoring report document (4) steps taken to strengthen shared governance (Standard 4). A small team visit will follow submission of the monitoring report. To direct a prompt liaison guidance visit to discuss Commission expectations. The date for the Periodic Review Report will be established when accreditation is reaffirmed.
