Accreditation Actions

The following represents the MSCHE accreditation actions taken in the last ten (10) years. For more information, see the Commission’s Accreditation Actions Policy and Procedures and the Substantive Change Policy and Procedures.

• October 27, 2022
  To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include the second post-Masters certificate program in Early Childhood within the institution's scope of accreditation. To note that written evidence of necessary approvals has been provided. To note the Commission may rescind this action if the requested substantive change is not implemented within one calendar year from the date of this action. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2023-2024.
• January 4, 2022
  To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include the first Post-Master's Certificate in School District Leadership Program, within the scope of the institution's accreditation. To require written evidence of approvals from all necessary licensing, regulatory, or other legal entities as necessary. To note that the Commission may rescind this action if the requested substantive change is not implemented within one calendar year from the date of this action. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2023-2024.
• March 4, 2021
  To note that the Mid-Point Peer Review has been conducted. To request that, beginning in 2021 and in conjunction with each Annual Institutional Update prior to the self-study visit in 2023-2024, the institution provide further evidence of policies, processes and programs to admit, retain and facilitate the success of all students (Standard IV). The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2023-2024.
• April 30, 2020
  To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include the first Post-baccalaureate Certificate in Early Childhood Leadership within the institution's scope of accreditation. To note the Commission may rescind this action if the requested substantive change is not implemented within one calendar year from the date of this action. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2023-2024.
• June 22, 2017
  To accept the progress report. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2023-2024.
• June 23, 2016
  To note the visit by the Commission's representative and to affirm inclusion of the additional location at Bronxworks, 1130 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY 10456 within the scope of the institution's accreditation. To remind the institution of the Commission's request of June 25, 2015 for a progress report due April 1, 2017. The date for the next accreditation review will be determined by the Commission when it revises the accreditation cycle.
• June 25, 2015
  To note the visit by the Commission's representative and to affirm inclusion of the additional location at Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES, 400 Boces Drive, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598 within the scope of the institution's accreditation.
• June 25, 2015
  To reaffirm accreditation and to request a progress report, due April 1, 2017, documenting (1) further implementation of a comprehensive institutional strategic plan that links long-range planning to decision making and budgeting processes (Standard 2) and (2) further implementation of an organized and sustained process to evaluate and improve institutional effectiveness (Standard 7). The Periodic Review Report is due June 1, 2020.
• April 27, 2015
  To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include the additional location at Bronxworks, 1130 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY 10456, provisionally within the scope of the institution's accreditation pending a site visit within six months of the commencement of the operations. The Commission requires written notification within thirty days of the commencement of operations at the additional location. In the event that operations at the additional location do not commence within one calendar year from the approval of this action, approval will lapse. To note that the evaluation visit occurred and will be acted on by the Commission at its June meeting.
• January 5, 2015
  To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To provisionally include the additional location at Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES, 400 Boces Drive, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598 within the scope of the institution's accreditation pending a site visit within six months. To remind the institution of the request that the self-study report, in preparation for the 2014-2015 evaluation visit, document evidence of progress in attaining established program-level learning goals for online programs (Standard 14).
• July 1, 2013
  To acknowledge the substantive change request and to include the online master's degree programs in Child Life and Leadership in Mathematics Education within the scope of the institution's accreditation. To request that the self-study report prepared in anticipation of the 2014-2015 evaluation visit document evidence of progress in attaining established program-level learning goals for online programs (Standard 14).
• November 18, 2010
  To accept the Periodic Review Report and to reaffirm accreditation. To commend the institution for the quality of the PRR process. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2014-2015.
