The following represents the MSCHE accreditation actions taken in the last ten (10) years. For more information, see the Commission’s Accreditation Actions Policy and Procedures and the Substantive Change Policy and Procedures.

• October 27, 2022
  To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To note the institution's decision to close the additional location at 8890 McGaw Road, Columbia, MD 21045 that has ceased operations. To remove the additional location from the institution's scope of accreditation. To require the submission of the updated Eligibility and Certification Approval Report (ECAR) reflecting the substantive change as soon as it is available. To note that the Commission reserves the right to rescind this action if any developments reveal additional information that might have affected the Commission's decision. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2028-2029.

• August 26, 2021
  To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include the relocation of the additional location at 18501 Mink Hollow Road, Ashton, MD 20861 to 5600 Rivertech Court, Suite K, Riverdale Park, MD 20737 within the institution's scope of accreditation. To require immediate notification when instruction commences at the new location and of the date that instruction ceases at the former location. To require written evidence of approvals from all necessary licensing, regulatory, or other legal entities as necessary, including Maryland Higher Education Commission. To note the Commission may rescind this action if the requested substantive change is not implemented within one calendar year from the date of this action. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2028-2029.

  To acknowledge receipt of the self-study report. To note that the institution hosted a virtual site visit in lieu of an on-site visit in accordance with the United States Department of Education (USDE) guidelines published March 17, 2020. To reaffirm accreditation. To request a supplemental information report, due March 1, 2022, documenting further evidence of organized and systematic assessments that evaluate institutional effectiveness (Standard VI). To note that a verification visit is required by USDE guidelines and will be conducted within a reasonable period of time following the virtual site visit. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2028-2029.

  To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include the reclassification of the other instructional site at Southwest Institute for Montessori Studies (SIMS), 245 West 2nd Street, Mesa, AZ 85201 to an additional location within the institution's scope of accreditation. To require immediate notification when the change is implemented. To note that the Commission may rescind this action if the requested substantive change is not implemented within one calendar year from the date of this action. To include within the scope of the institution's accreditation the relocation of the Montessori Institute of Atlanta additional location from 1768 Old Peachtree Road, Duluth, GA 30097 to 2991 N. Decatur Road, Decatur, GA 30033. The Commission requires written notification within thirty days of the commencement of operations at the new location and the closure of the old location. Operations at the additional location must commence within one calendar year from the date of this action. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2020-2021.

  To acknowledge receipt of documentation of approval from Maryland Higher Education Commission and to include the online Masters of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Technology within the scope of the institution's accreditation.

  To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include the second alternative delivery method program - online Masters of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Technology - within the scope of the institution's accreditation effective upon receipt of state approval. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2020-2021.

  To acknowledge receipt of the substantive change request. To include within the scope of the institution's accreditation the relocation of the following additional locations: (1) Grenville Montessori Institute (GMI) Training Center from 717 S. Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601 to 405 Tanyard Road, Greenville, SC 29609 ; (2) Montessori Institute of Milwaukee (MIM) from 3195 S. Superior Street, Suite L 428, Milwaukee, WI 53207 to 621 South 4th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53204; and (3) Southwest Institute for Montessori Studies (SIMS) from 1025 E. Liberty Lane, Phoenix, AZ 85048 to 123 North 13th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85034 and to include the new locations within the scope of the institution's accreditation. The Commission requires written notification within thirty days of the commencement of operations at the new locations and the closure of the old locations. Operations at the locations must commence within one calendar year from the date of this action. To note that the Periodic Review Report has been received and will be acted upon by the Commission at the November meeting.
