Substantive Change Updates with Live Q&A (Training for Peer Evaluators)
September 15, 2022 at 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Event Navigation
Sponsored by The Registry
In accordance with federal regulations and the Commission’s Substantive Change Policy and Substantive Change Procedures, member institutions must submit a substantive change request to the Commission for approval prior to implementation for certain types of changes. The Commission, through a multi-level accreditation decision-making process, reviews the substantive change request prior to implementation in accordance with federal regulation 34 CFR § 602.22(a)(1)(i). Peer evaluators are an important part of this process, as their review helps determine the Substantive Change Committee’s recommendation for Commission action.
New and veteran substantive change peer evaluators will join us for training on recent changes to substantive change policy, procedures, and guidelines resulting from changes in federal regulation. During this training session, peer evaluators will become familiar with updated review forms required during the process and receive answers from MSCHE staff on reviewing substantive change requests and other questions.
Registration will be by invitation only.
Cost: Free
Learning Outcomes
- Identify the different types of substantive change reviews and what institutions are expected to submit as part of the substantive change request.

A recording of the presentation will be sent to all registrants following the live event and will also be available through the Litmos learning management platform. The Live Q&A will not be recorded.
