Nexus of Communication 101: Basics for Accreditation Liaison Officers (ALO)

The Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) is an important role for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and its member institutions. The ALO serves as the primary point of contact between MSCHE staff and the institution, and as a resource for the institution on accreditation processes and related matters. This webinar will focus on the role of the ALO as the nexus of communication regarding MSCHE policies, processes, procedures, guidelines, and reporting responsibilities; MSCHE expectations within the context of their own institution; completing the Annual Institutional Update (AIU); and accessing available resources to support the work of the ALO.

• Recognize the various aspects of the role of the ALO.   
• Identify the MSCHE expectations of the ALO.   
• Review the Commission’s resources for the ALO. 
• Identify recent changes in federal regulatory requirements applicable to accreditation, as well as revisions to MSCHE policy and procedures, e.g., Credit Hour Policy and Procedures; Transfer Credit, Prior Learning, and Articulation Agreements Policy, Procedures and Guidelines; and Related Entities Policy and Procedures.
