Albany Town Hall

Town Halls allow the Commission to update members on topics ranging from changes at MSCHE to the political environment and/or the accreditation landscape that has the potential to impact the higher education community. This Town Hall will include opening remarks by President Elizabeth H. Sibolski and additional updates and dialogue with Commission staff. And as always, we look forward to hearing directly from our members.

From Assessment to Planning (and back)
Demonstrating and Documenting the Use of Assessment Results
1:30–4:30 pmTHE WORKSHOP IS FULL. IT WILL BE REPEATED AT THE SAN JUAN AND PITTSBURGH TOWN HALLS. PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THOSE DATES AND TIMES.

Through the lens of Standards V (Educational Effectiveness Assessment) and VI (Planning, Resources and Institutional Improvement), this workshop will present strategies for using assessment results for long-range planning and resource allocation. Additionally, the workshop will focus on the use of assessment results for the continuous improvement of academic and non-academic programs and units, and as a mechanism for spurring innovative initiatives.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify the MSCHE expectations for use of assessment results in Standards V and VI.
  • Understand the role of assessment in planning and resource allocation
  • Identify strategies for documenting use of assessment results
  • Discuss strategies for determining whether assessment practices are producing meaningful data for planning and resource allocation
