MSCHE Welcomes New Member Institutions
The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) congratulates Brooklyn Law School (NY) and Mildred Elley (NY) for their grant of Accreditation Status through the Commission’s new Addition or Change of Primary Accreditor to MSCHE Procedures, which provides opportunities for institutions in good standing with other USDE-recognized accreditors to seek accreditation with an accelerated timeline.
In addition, the Commission congratulates AMG College (NY) on becoming a candidate for accreditation. The Commission granted the institution Candidate Status at its November 2025 meeting.
Candidate institutions undergo a multi-step process where they demonstrate compliance with the Commission’s Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation (Fourteenth Edition), requirements of affiliation, policies and procedures, and applicable federal regulatory requirements.
The Commission serves institutions with a broad range of support as they navigate the complexities of the accreditation process. These institutions also benefit from a vast learning community including member institutions, state and system partners, peer evaluators, and Commissioners.
The Commission welcomes inquiries and applications from domestic and international institutions seeking accreditation. Institutions interested in application and candidacy should contact staff at [email protected].
The Commission is proud to offer institutions in good standing with other USDE-recognized accreditors a streamlined pathway to accreditation through our Addition or Change of Primary Accreditor to MSCHE Procedures. Eligible institutions access a fast and affordable path to accreditation, bypassing the candidacy phase and enjoying unique onboarding experiences to position their institutional priorities within self-study. Institutions under our accelerated timeline have become accredited within 4-6 months since the implementation of the new procedures in January 2025, provided the United States Department of Education (USDE) has completed its required steps.
