MSCHE 2024 Annual Conference Sets New Record for Registration
The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) Annual Conference is the Commission’s premier event for higher education professionals looking for the latest industry insights, powerful conversations, impactful knowledge, and valuable networking.
In the heart of Philadelphia, PA, the convening, hosted December 11-13, 2024, brought the highest number of registrants for the conference to date. Under the theme Protecting the Future: Champions for Higher Education, more than 1,600 higher education professionals, students, Commissioners, and staff members registered to attend the conference at the Philadelphia Marriott.
“It is always an amazing experience when our champions for higher education come together at our conference,” Commission President Heather Perfetti said. “Our conference registration continues to grow because of the many ways we are focused on offering new opportunities when we are with our constituents and partners while holding steadfast to our dedication to excellence and innovation.”
The plenary sessions featured organizational leaders who offered a range of exceptional insights and advice into the work being supported across our higher education community. Participants returned to their organizations best positioned to be responsive to increased challenges, better informed of AI’s reach within learning environments, and with opportunities for post-secondary reform through the lens of skills-first economy based on market forces.
Plenary speakers included:
- John B. King, Jr., 15th Chancellor of The State University of New York (SUNY)
- Tamara Askew, Deloitte’s National Lead for Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education
- Davie Gilmour, Chair of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education
- Michael Collins, Vice President, Center for Racial Economic Equity, Jobs for the Future (JFF)
- Joel Vargas, Vice President, Education Practice, Jobs for the Future (JFF)
The Commission continues to proudly support and center the work of students at our Annual Conference. Student Poster Session returned to the conference for its third year, with 100 undergraduate and graduate students from nearly 40 member institutions presenting 68 research posters.
Nearly 30 sponsors and exhibitors shared their resources and services at the conference. The exhibit hall also featured The EdUp Experience Podcast recording live interviews with attendees on higher education and accreditation topics.
