MSCHE Approves the Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation (Fourteenth Edition)

Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation 14 CoverOn March 9, 2023, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) voted to approve the Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation (Fourteenth Edition). Member institutions had voted to endorse the standards via their presidents in January 2023. The standards will go into effect on July 1, 2023. Institutions participating in Self-Study Institute in the fall of 2023 will be the first cohort to undergo self-study under these standards with visits in 2025-2026.

“The Commission was very pleased with the institutional response throughout this process and with our presidents sharing their voice through the vote regarding the standards,” stated MSCHE President Dr. Heather F. Perfetti. “Our Commission shares with the institutional membership a sense of excitement regarding the new standards, and we look forward to their implementation. We encourage institutional members to engage in the many webinars and training opportunities that will be offered throughout 2023 and beyond.”

The first webinar titled Part 1: Let’s Celebrate the Revised Standards addressing the revised standards will be offered on April 5, 2023. Visit the Standards Revision Report page for additional information on the revision process.
