Nicole Biever Named MSCHE Director for Strategic Partnerships and Advocacy

Nicole BieverMs. Nicole Biever was named Director for Strategic Partnerships and Advocacy of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) in February 2023. Ms. Biever joined the staff as Director for Communications and Development Specialist in April 2022. As Director for Strategic Partnerships and Advocacy, Ms. Biever joins the Office of the President and serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet. Focused upon the Commission’s strategic priorities, Ms. Biever will work closely with higher education associations, government agencies, systems, and other agencies to promote partnerships that lend to a broad commitment to advocacy, education, and outreach pertaining to the work of the Commission.

“Ms. Biever is already a proven leader positioned well to drive strategic partnerships and advocacy on behalf of the Commission,” stated MSCHE President Dr. Heather F. Perfetti. “I am pleased to shift her role slightly so that she will work most closely with me, the Executive Leadership Team, and all organizational units to nurture and guide the Commission’s internal and external outreach through transformative and innovative approaches.”

Ms. Biever has more than 18 years of experience in higher education and communication. Before coming to MSCHE, she served as Assessment/Grant Specialist for the Wokini Initiative, previously taught in the English Department at South Dakota State University (2003-2019), and served as Chief Development Officer for the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains (SD; 2019-2021), directing the organization’s marketing, development, special events, and grant management. Ms. Biever holds an M.A. and B.A. from South Dakota State University.
