Dr. Idna Corbett Named MSCHE Senior Vice President for Accreditation Relations
Dr. Idna Corbett was named Senior Vice President for Accreditation Relations of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) in October 2022. Dr. Corbett joined the staff as a Vice President for Institutional Field Relations in 2017 and became Lead Vice President in January 2022. As Senior Vice President, Dr. Corbett serves as a member of the President’s Executive Leadership Team and Cabinet and provides oversight for the Accreditation Services and Vice President for Institutional Field Relations units. She works closely with the Commission’s accreditation committees, oversees accreditation activities of institutions, and supports events and training.
“Dr. Corbett’s promotion to Senior Vice President for Accreditation Relations has strengthened the leadership of the Commission, as she contributes valuable perspectives from her many years of experiences with us already, in addition to her institutional experiences,” stated MSCHE President Dr. Heather F. Perfetti. “I am proud to work closely with Dr. Corbett in her role as Senior Vice President, and I have already seen the impact that her leadership and vision will bring to the important and complex work that we do.”
Before coming to MSCHE, Dr. Corbett served as Vice Provost for Undergraduate Academic Affairs at Northern Kentucky University where she was responsible for University-wide curriculum development, academic assessment processes, and student support services. In addition, she served as liaison to the University’s institutional accrediting Commission and the state higher education council. Prior to that, Dr. Corbett was Professor of Educational Development and Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Student Support Services at West Chester University (PA). Dr. Corbett also has experience as a peer evaluator.
