Director for Regulatory Affairs Beverly Rebar Joins MSCHE
Ms. Beverly Rebar will join the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in November 2022 as the Director for Regulatory Affairs. In this role, she will support the Commission’s responsibilities in the regulatory triad, including with federal, state, and other government partners, and she will provide guidance relating to regulatory changes that impact the Commission as well as its member institutions.
“I am pleased to welcome Beverly to the MSCHE team. Beverly’s experience in academic, legislative, and regulatory affairs will align well with the work of the Policy and Regulatory Affairs Unit and of the Commission, where Beverly will have opportunities to contribute to many of our strategic priorities,” said Vice President for Policy and Regulatory Affairs Dr. Amy Moseder.
Prior to joining the Commission, Ms. Rebar served as the Senior Associate for Academic, Legislative and Regulatory Affairs for the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia from 2008 to 2022. There, she developed academic policies, coordinated statewide higher education legislative efforts, and managed regulatory processes. She previously served in a variety of legal positions as an associate attorney in private practice, a public defender, assistant city attorney, and legislative staff.
Ms. Rebar earned her B.S. in Finance from the University of Maryland in 1992 and her J.D. from the College of William & Mary (VA) in 1995, and she completed a graduate certificate in Higher Education Compliance from Drexel University in 2022.
