MSCHE President Dr. Heather Perfetti to Serve as C-RAC Vice Chair
Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) President Dr. Heather Perfetti has been named Vice Chair of the Council of Regional Accrediting Commissions (C-RAC), effective July 1, 2022. Dr. Perfetti, who will serve a two-year term, succeeds Jamienne S. Studley president of the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). Ms. Studley has served as Vice Chair since 2020 and will become the next Chair replacing Dr. Belle S. Wheelan, President of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC).
Dr. Perfetti became president of MSCHE in 2020. Most recently, she was a primary negotiator representing accrediting agencies on the Affordability and Student Loans Committee for the negotiated rulemaking established by the United States Department of Education’s Office of Postsecondary Education. Dr. Perfetti, who joined MSCHE in 2015, was also recently named to City & State Pennsylvania 2022 Higher Education Power 100 ranking, recognizing the most powerful educators in Pennsylvania.
“I look forward to this opportunity to lead C-RAC along with Ms. Studley as we continue our focus on institutional quality, improvement, and accountability,” Dr. Perfetti said. “MSCHE, with the other C-RAC members representing institutional accreditors, supports engagement with each other and our constituents to advance quality across the higher education community.”
