New MSCHE Staff Enhance Restructured Communications and Events Unit
The Middle State Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) has welcomed two new staff members and unified its Communications and Events units.
Under the leadership of Senior Director for Communications and Events Mr. Brian Kirschner, the new Communications and Events Unit better aligns MSCHE’s mission-critical events and strategic communications plan. Mr. Kirschner, who joined the Commission in 2018, has played a leading role in reshaping the Commission’s communications planning and execution via its website and social media as well as worked closely with MSCHE’s Executive Leadership Team to shape messaging. Throughout his time with the Commission, he has played an enhanced role in strategizing and organizing MSCHE’s events, including the Annual Conference.
As Director for Events, longtime MSCHE staff member Ms. Victoria Clark continues to manage logistical functions and registration for all events including conferences, webinars, workshops, and other assigned special events. Recently, Ms. Clark, who joined the Commission in 1994, worked with MSCHE staff, Commissioners, and presenters to successfully transition high-profile events such as the 2020 and 2021 Self-Study Institutes and the 2021 Annual Conference to a virtual environment.
Ms. Nicole Biever joined MSCHE in as Director for Communications and Development Specialist in April 2022. Ms. Biever will work closely with the Senior Director for Communications and Events, the Events unit, and the President to support strategic communications and the Commission’s priorities. She most recently served as Assessment/Grant Specialist for the Wokini Initiative and has more than 18 years of experience in higher education and communication. At MSCHE, she will also be overseeing the development and implementation of the Commission’s sponsorship program as it relates to the Annual Conference and other events as well as leading grant initiatives.
Ms. Rebecca DeHaven joined the Commission in a newly created position as the Events Technology Assistant in April 2022. She will manage and support the technology platforms used to facilitate the Commission’s virtual, in person, and hybrid events including the Annual Conference, workshops, webinars, trainings, and meetings. Ms. DeHaven has a background in both virtual and live event production as well as in higher education having previously worked at The American College of Financial Services and the Inception Company.
