MSCHE Joins in Support of Student Mental Health

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) joined nearly 100 signers, 80+ from higher education, in urging Congress to support and prioritize the mental and behavior health needs of students in higher education as Congressional committees develop mental health legislation. The letter, sent by the American Council on Education (ACE), encourages Congress to invest in existing programs and reexamine ways that legislation can support the mental and behavioral health needs of America’s college students.

The letter notes that student mental health needs have been rising for years and have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The letter is signed by the organizations and associations representing students, institutions of higher education, mental health professionals, researchers, advocates, and others.
