Revised Procedures Posted

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) made technical amendments to the Follow-Up Reports and Visits Procedures and the Follow-Up Reports Guidelines. These revised procedures and guidelines are effective February 1, 2021. Upon the effective date, the documents will be available on the Browse Policies and Procedures page and can be found using the search filter.

The policy unit made technical amendments to Follow-Up Reports and Visits Procedures to clarify that the institution must use the Institutional Portal to upload documents electronically. In addition, specific procedures related to follow-up reports were moved here from another document. This document now conveys the entire follow-up process (from writing the written follow-up report to the visit) in one document.

The policy unit made technical amendments to Follow-Up Reports Guidelines to move procedures related to reports to the Follow-Up Reports and Visits Procedures document (as referenced above). In addition, references to “out of cycle supplemental information reports” were removed. The Commission is developing a new document making a clear separation between follow-up reports (supplemental information reports, monitoring reports, focused reports, show cause reports) versus a more direct “request for information” to substantiate or verify information that the Commission has collected or received from external sources.

The Policy Unit also made updates to the follow-up Team Report and Team Chair’s Confidential Brief templates. Templates for the Self-Study Evaluation and Application and Candidacy were also updated.

Templates are available on the Commission’s website at:  https://www.msche.org/evaluators/resources/.
