ACE Asks White House to Rescind Executive Order, MSCHE Joins Effort
On October 8, 2020, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education joined the American Council on Education (ACE) and more than 50 higher education associations in a letter to the White House asking that President Donald J. Trump withdraw the executive order Combating Race and Sex Stereotyping, which has caused significant confusion for colleges and universities, among other concerns.
“We strongly oppose race and sex stereotyping, which inhibits efforts to build more inclusive workplaces and communities. But the timing, content, and discordant tone of your Executive Order is creating concern, confusion, and uncertainty for federal contractors and grant recipients across the country,” the letter stated.
