New MSCHE Commissioner Nominations – Extended to June 30

The Committee on Membership of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education invites nominations for new Commissioners for the term Jan. 1, 2021 through Dec. 31, 2023. Individuals may nominate themselves, anyone from their own campus, someone from another institution, or a public representative.

This year, nominations are invited for at least two positions on the Commission for institutional and public representatives. While the Commission invites all nominations, it is seeking nominations at the chief executive officer, chief academic officer, or faculty level within a member institution. A Public Representative is an individual who is not an employee, governing board member, owner, shareholder, or consultant of an institution accredited by the Commission or a candidate for accreditation by the Commission; who is not a member of any trade association or membership organization related to, affiliated with, or associated with the Commission; and who is not a spouse, parent, child, or sibling of any of the above.

Commission members spend approximately 8-10 days each year on Commission business, including Commission meetings and accreditation committee meetings. The full Commission usually meets for one day in March, June, and November.

To submit a nomination for one or more of the vacancies, please complete the nomination form by June 30, 2020 (new deadline), though the Commission is considering a deadline extension due to the current circumstances related to the coronavirus Crisis (COVID-19). Please note that the Committee on Membership cannot consider a nominee unless it has a copy of the individual’s current resume, which should be provided with the nomination. It is not necessary to provide a full curriculum vitae.
