President-Elect Perfetti Guest Speaker at Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic Meeting

President-Elect Dr. Heather Perfetti served as the guest speaker at the Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic region meeting of its Senior Advisory Group for Engagement (SAGE) held at Bowie State University on Oct. 21, 2019. Dr. Perfetti’s remarks focused on the presidential transition and the future of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), the Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation through the lens of the vision, mission, and core values of the Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic, MSCHE resources available to colleges and universities, and opportunities through the renewed accreditation processes and institutional strategic priorities that promote global citizenship, leadership, service, and civic engagement.
Ms. Madeline Yates, the Executive Director of the Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic, and Ms. Karen J. Shaheed, Esq., Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief of Staff to the President of Bowie State University welcomed those in attendance. Dr. James Fielder, Secretary of Higher Education, Maryland Higher Education Commission, and Dr. Colleen Perry Keith, President of Goldey-Beacom College and Presidents’ Council Member of Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic, shared insightful comments in response to Dr. Perfetti’s presentation, and discussion with the audience then followed.
Approximately 50 individuals representing 25 institutions attended.
The Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic is a non-profit membership association of public, private, two- and four-year colleges and universities. The Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic region provides leadership to colleges and universities in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Delaware by advocating, supporting, and encouraging institutional participation in academic and co-curricular based public service and civic engagement programs.
