MSCHE Announces Changes to Senior Leadership Team
The Middle States Commission on Higher Education has announced changes to its senior leadership team. Dr. Christy L. Faison was named Senior Vice President for Accreditation Relations in January 2019 to replace Dr. Robert A. Schneider who became Special Assistant to the President.
Additionally, as of July 1, 2019, Senior Vice President for Operations Dr. Andrea A. Lex will assume leadership responsibilities for the finance area on an interim basis. She will replace Senior Vice President for Finance Dr. Lisa Marie McCauley who was named president of the Middle States Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Education on March 6, 2019.
Dr. Faison joined the MSCHE staff as a Vice President in January 2012 and was elevated to Managing Vice President in July 2018. As Senior Vice President for Accreditation Relations, she provides oversight for the Accreditation Services and Vice Presidents units. Dr. Faison serves as a member of the MSCHE President’s Cabinet.
Dr. Schneider joined MSCHE in 2004 and had served as Senior Vice President for Accreditation Relations since 2011. As Special Assistant, he is tasked with researching topics related to the future direction of the Commission, including the international aspects of MSCHE accreditation. At MSCHE, he has served as liaison to numerous institutions and participated in training events, policy and publication development, and special projects.
Dr. Lex, a member of the President’s Cabinet, is responsible for facilitating the work of the Operations Group, which includes information systems, research, communications/public relations, volunteer training and development, and now, finance. She first served as an MSCHE Vice President from 2007 through 2009 and returned to the Commission as a Vice President in August 2013. She has occupied her current role as Senior Vice President for Operations since 2015.
Dr. McCauley joined MSCHE as Senior Director for Accreditation Operations in 2012 before being named Interim Chief Operating Officer for the Middle States Association in 2014 and Senior Vice President for Finance in January 2016. She will remain in her current role as a member of the President’s Cabinet until she assumes her new position.
