Inaugural Annual Institutional Update a Success
After closing on Oct. 12, the inaugural Annual Institutional Update (AIU) was hailed as a success with 100 percent of member institutions submitting their data on time.
“The AIU was a new process and the Commission would like to extend its thanks to all of those from our member institutions who worked on the AIU. We recognize the patience and hard work needed to get the data validated and entered on time,” said W. Allen Richman, Senior Director for Research. “The MSCHE Research Unit worked diligently to aid members as they worked in the new system with over 2,500 communications with member institutions including over 600 live chat sessions.”
The live chats were a new customer service feature that greatly aided in answering questions from member institutions in a timely manner.
AIU data are currently being processed and reviewed by MSCHE staff, and we will provide additional information to the membership in the spring after the internal review process is completed. In addition, the data are already being used with the institutions now going through the first Mid-Point Peer Review.
MSCHE staff are considering a number of improvements to the AIU based on this year’s process.
As a reminder, the 2019 AIU is scheduled for April to May, which is when institutions should expect the AIU to occur each year.
