Institutional Effectiveness: Bite-Sized and Jargon Free (Mostly)
May 4, 2018 - Courtyard by Marriott - Philadelphia Downtown - Philadelphia, PA
Institutional effectiveness reflects the degree to which a college or university is achieving its institutional mission. The increasing prevalence of the term means that higher education institutions will need to better integrate assessment, planning and resource allocation for the purpose of improving student learning and the environment for student success. Sound complicated? It doesn’t have to be.
This workshop will assist colleges and university faculty, staff, and administrators in understanding that their institutions already possess all the elements required to design and implement an institutional effectiveness system. At issue is the lack of an integrated planning approach and institutional effectiveness system that allows the institution to “connect the dots.” As a result, institutions often maintain numerous, disjointed assessment and planning processes and struggle to communicate their alignment and document mission achievement. This workshop will take participants, step-by-step, through the development, implementation, and evaluation of an institutional effectiveness system designed to enhance student learning and success.
This is an intermediate level workshop. The anticipate audience will include faculty, staff, and administrators with planning, institutional effectiveness, and accreditation responsibilities.
