Creating or selecting the assessment tools that can best measure student progress in meeting learning goals are important components of the assessment process. This workshop, designed using feedback from prior workshop participants, focuses on assessment tools and complements the workshops Becoming an Assessment Facilitator or Understanding and Using Assessment Results by specifically focusing on how to select an assessment approach that is aligned with learning goals and opportunities.

Presentations on each of these topics will be interspersed with small group hands-on exercises that will let you think about and practice what you’re learning. Participants will leave the workshop with strategies and tools they can use on their campuses.

This workshop is appropriate for faculty, administrators, and senior leaders with a basic understanding of assessment principles who are interested in expanding their understanding of assessment tools. The workshop will be oriented toward those with a beginning to intermediate level of understanding and experience in assessment.
The registration fee includes workshop materials, a continental breakfast, refreshment breaks, and lunch. Institutions may send more than one person to this workshop.
