Involving Stakeholders in the Institutional Assessment Process

February 23, 2016 - Sheraton Puerto Rico Convention Center Hotel and Casino - San Juan, PR

About the Workshop

The Commission’s Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation continue to emphasize the appropriate assessment of institutional and unit goals and objectives. Introduced in 2015, these standards and requirements are unique because three of the requirements and all of the standards contain assessment criteria and Standard VI, “Planning, Resources and Institutional Improvement” specifically requires institutions to engage in meaningful assessment activity that involves reflection of conclusions drawn from assessment with linkages to planning and resource allocation.

Recent assessments conducted by the Commission reveal that full implementation of the assessment process continues to be a challenge for institutions, particularly when it comes to involving multiple members of the institutional community. This workshop will therefore not only focus on strategies for addressing Commission expectations for assessment but also review ways to facilitate the assessment process in ways that include multiple members of the institutional community at both institutional and unit levels.

Topics include:

This workshop will engage participants in activities throughout the day and will focus on assessment at multiple levels of the institution. Institutional leaders as well as unit level managers, staff, and faculty are all welcome to participate. The workshop is designed for individuals with beginning to intermediate level knowledge and experience in the institutional effectiveness area. Some preparation prior to the workshop will be required.
