This comprehensive two-day workshop is designed for administrators and faculty who are seeking in-depth and hands-on experience with strategies to lead their institution to the next level of student learning assessment. Individuals or institutional teams are welcome, including assessment coordinators and committee members, institutional research staff, self-study chairs and steering committee members, academic affairs administrators, and other interested faculty and administrators.
Topics and Learning Opportunities
Does your institution have an upcoming MSCHE self-study, periodic review report, or other report on student learning assessment? Has your institution's student learning assessment efforts stalled? Is implementation spotty--happening in some places but not others? Do you struggle to figure out how to help faculty move ahead with assessment?
This workshop will help you understand how to meet MSCHE expectations for student learning assessment and move your institution's student learning assessment efforts to the next level of excellence. Presentations and exercises will help you: - Get your institution on board the student learning assessment bandwagon. - Identify the kinds of student learning evidence that meet MSCHE expectations. - Organize and implement assessments of your general education curriculum. - Use student learning assessment results to improve teaching and learning, and to inform planning and budget decisions. - Provide meaningful, compelling evidence to MSCHE.
